The BluRein Foundation has initiated a Rural to Rural project wherein our final goal will be to develop a self-sustaining resource centre. One where people can go for the basic essentials of life and further learn lifelong skills that will give them hope for their future. Built on dreams and hope – this place will be a success. Volunteers will be the backbone to this facility.
Our small steps in the Dominican Republic
have been:
In November 2006, we were able to distribute 700 lbs of health packs, baby clothing, shoes, glasses and medicine. This is when we realized that this community needs more than a hand-out they need a hand-up.
On March 26, 2007, we coordinated a Parasite and Wound Clinic. With the contributions from our local community we took 2000 lbs of clinical supplies and medication to assist five doctors as they treated many children that needed help.
